Lake Home Renovation Recap

Well, if you have not seen the recent news, we are expecting a little GIRL at the end of this year!!! After 17 years of being a boy mom and decorating boy spaces, we finally have a girl’s room to decorate! Just as I just got the lake home “done,” I’m so excited to change it up again! We are in the middle of converting my home office into her room, and I even decided to change up the living room yet again. To be honest, I believe a home is never complete, and there is always an ongoing list of things to tackle.

With all of this being said, I figured it was a great time to recap the house! For anyone new here, I moved here a little over three years ago. It was the middle of COVID, and the boys and I lived in the basement for a while we renovated. Everyone thought I was crazy, but I intuitively knew that we all needed a change and a fresh start. To be transparent, I did NOT have a budget for this home, so I knew I would have to tackle little projects little by little. Trust me; I thank God for the people, resources, and all of them that were put in my life. He knew all along what He was doing, and He knew I would not be doing it alone. Even now, He has a plan and knows exactly all He is orchestrating it all.

The point of this post is to recap the inside of the lake house because I have shared a few projects here and there, but not shared the finished product as a whole! These renovations took years, and I am grateful for a lot of people that helped make it happen. It took me personally hammering out tile, painting, and SO much more. I have even decided to take my passion for renovating and building, to now helping others with The Hummingbird Homes. Renovating and creating spaces is a deep love of mine and I am so grateful I was able to create through this home. I feel like building a home could be in our future, but for now, my heart is beyond content to welcome our daughter here.

Throughout the post you will see other posts linking to more of the projects and along with sources and credits! You will also see a couple spaces I have never shared on the blog!

We’ve done some “Landscape Fixes’ that you can read more about on my blog post HERE.

Before Pictures

Here are some of the ‘before photos’ of the lake house! In my opinion, seeing the before is what always makes it the transformation even better. Again, I am so proud of this house. Grateful and thankful for everyone over the years.

To wrap everything up, I want to show you just a couple of the Lake House renovations I have taken on over the past few years. It’s a little reminder that things take time, organization, and believing in yourself. Everyone folder is a project that took resources in some capacity and budgeting. I am so grateful for the ability to complete all of these and can’t wait for the opportunity to share more renovations to come, especially the baby girl’s room!!!

More updates are coming soon, so stay tuned!
